The Cypress repeater 147.000 (103.5) is up and running again. Another repeater, 146.94 is temporarily down for repairs. Also 147.240 is back on the air with open autopatch as before. Both trustees encourage ECHO members to make use of their machines. Both have good coverage of Harris County.

Several ECHO members have been using 147.000 during morning and evening drive times, especially when we drops out of the 08's coverage. So let's all get talking!

The Clear Lake ARC 442.75 (103.5) is back on the air after a workday this past week-end. This repeater is tied to the 146.86 (100.0) full time and has a NWS alerting reciever and weather station.

The 147.08 is back on the air. At the present time its the old Spectrum but its working just fine. Dave, W5WP, has the Motorola awaiting parts and then will do just a good overall tune-up on it before it goes back on the air.

Well if you are looking at this site you have found the new and improved Houston ECHO Society web-site. We need to thank Chase, KC5MPK, for helping me with the style sheets and code issues. I hope that you find the new design easy to navigate. Also it is being hosted on the KC5MPK server "Gollum" located in Longview TX. Hosting it on qsl.net has been OK but qsl.net has gotten so slow over the past two to three years it has become unacceptable for our needs. We will continue to host our email reflector with qsl.net but thats all.

As you have probably noticed the 147.08 machine is down. We are awaiting a part before Dave, W5WP can make the necessary repairs and get it back on the air In the mean time we may throw the old Spectrum up in its place, get the Motorola down and let Dave have it, make the repairs and do a good general tune up on it. In the mean time continue to use the 146.700 repeater.

The Houston chapter of the American Red Cross is no longer making the building available to the club for meetings on Friday nights. As a result for the month of January 2005 the meeting was moved to Saturday morning preceded by an eating meeting at Denny's accross the highway. During the meeting that followed at the Red Cross building it was discussed and voted on that for the time being the club will meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at the normal 7:30 PM time slot. The traditional time of food, fun and fellowship will continue at Goode Company, just on a different night.

Aug 04 (AG5T)

The Houston Echo Society placed 2nd in the 3F category for Field Day! Final score was 4020! Thanks to all who came to operate and the Red Cross for hosting.
